Reflecting on Purpose Led Projects

6th May 2023

There are countless causes close to our heart here at instinct, from looking after our oceans to supporting the refugee crisis. Last summer we launched the charity arm of our business, Good Instinct, and have a few projects up our sleeve, but we wanted to reflect on a few of our favourite charity campaigns we’ve carried out over the last few years…

Leave Nothing But Footprints with Plymouth Gin

With many Brits flocking to the South West over 2021 for home-grown holidays, we launched a campaign for Plymouth Gin alongside Plymouth based global conservation charity The Ocean Conservation Trust. The campaign had one core call to action – if everyone picked up 5 pieces of litter when they are at the beach, that would be 500 million less pieces of rubbish on the coast.

We worked with TV star and adventurer Ben Fogle to create a piece of video content showcasing the beauty of Plymouth’s beaches, with Ben explaining how close the sea was to his heart and why it’s vital everyone does their bit to keep the coastline clean. We sold this in to online news and lifestyle media with key pieces including the i and over 30 pieces of regional coverage, alongside interviews with Ben on the independent.co.uk.

Barnardos: Fashion For All

As part of our new charity arm, we started working with Barnardo’s Retail to help launch their summer campaign; Fashion For All. The charity teamed up with a host of famous faces, including TOWIE’s Lydia Bright, UK Drag Race star A’Whora and Actress Donna Air to highlight Barnardo’s as a destination to purchase great quality, great value pre-loved fashion and accessories. To bolster the campaign, we invited a number of press, influencers and VIP’s to an exclusive party to see the campaign imagery and shop the edited collection, securing over 50 pieces of event coverage to a combined following of almost 3M.

The Lotus Flower x The Darling Beast

Continuing our work for Good instinct, we supported female refugee charity The Lotus Flower to secure editorial and social coverage around a limited-edition print for International Women’s Day, in partnership with artist The Darling Beast. Drumming up support, we secured press coverage on the likes of YOU and Metro, along with 15 VIP social mentions to a combined following of 1.3M.

Prostate Cancer UK

In May 2019, we were honoured to work with charity Prostate Cancer UK on a campaign to highlight the importance of saving men’s lives from prostate cancer. Centrepiece of the campaign was a giant ‘savings jar’ on London’s South Bank, created to encourage people to celebrate the men in their lives. Coverage reached 41,500,000 people thanks to pieces on BBC London, ITV London & the Evening Standard.
