12 Sep Disney On Ice launches Very Important Grandparents
To mark the launch of Disney On Ice presents Dream Big, our ongoing campaign is dedicated to the wondrous wisdom of grandparents. Disney On Ice’s latest spectacular is the first chance for fans in Europe to glimpse the story of Moana live on ice – and as Moana’s bond with wise Gramma Tala is the heart of the family blockbuster, we saw our chance to delve into the stories of real, hero grandparents in the UK. Our survey revealed the top 20 things grandparents and grandkids learn from each other – and with the help of Mummy Dairies star Billie Faiers, her daughter Nelly and mum Sue Wells, we launched a nationwide search for Very Important Grandparents (VIGP). (All three generations even tried their hand at some ice skating with help from Disney On Ice. Minds were blown! You can catch our exclusive footage here.)
Three national titles covered the campaign on launch day, with Billie and Sue conducting a massive 15 radio interviews, including Heart FM. Coverage has reached 22 pieces at time of writing, with a total circulation over 475 million, and 535,000+ views on social channels.Got a story to tell? There’s still a chance to enter until September 22nd– simply head to the Disney On Ice Facebook channel and comment on the post with something you learned from a grandparent!
Winners of our competition will be announced in October, just in time for national Grandparents’ day – and the lucky family will be treated to a VIP experience at Disney On Ice presents Dream Big at The O2 arena right after Christmas.
