We’ve done some crazy things for our clients over the years, but dressing up as video game personas might top the list. Why were Calum and Rosie dressed as characters, you ask? Well, obviously, they went to Comic Con!
EMP, the latest client to join the instinct pr roster, is widely known for being Europe’s leading source for merchandise for major franchises including DC, Marvel, Disney, Nintendo and more. This year EMP ensured they had a major presence at MCM Comic Con London and enlisted our help to get the word out to press. Naturally, we felt that the best way to give journalists the news was to bring them to the convention itself and give them a truly immersive experience…
We met press from InStyle, The Sun, The Metro and The Daily Mirror at a studio in East London to transform them into their character of choice. Three tubes of green paint, two black morph suits, and a wig or two later, and the crew was ready to take on Comic Con.
We flew across the Thames like superheroes on the Emirates Car Cable and arrived in an alternate universe at the Excel London.
Once within the convention centre, we headed straight to the EMP stand to see exactly what the brand had on display before exploring the wild and weird ways of Comic Con.
From viewing live video game battles to participating in celebrity roundtables as well as watching the greatest costume contest you’ve ever seen, each journalist came away understanding a little more about what the fringe culture has to offer.
Most importantly, the activity generated blanket coverage crediting EMP within the attendees’ titles. Read all about their eye-opening experiences below:
