02 Mar Ultimo Goes to The Oscars
The Oscars are known for being the most glamorous night in Hollywood, but for press watching in London, typically the viewing experience is anything but. With LA being on an eight hour time difference, fashion and entertainment press are up until the wee hours working in cold lonely offices to pull together stories. We at instinct pr, being the problem solvers that we are, decided to help out our journalist friends and host an Oscars viewing party with lingerie brand Ultimo.
On Oscar’s Sunday Ultimo rolled out the red carpet and the online teams from Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, The Independent, The Debrief, HELLO!, LOOK, The Metro to name a few arrived at the Royal Suite in the St Pancras Hotel. The room was complete with a mega lounge, a table fit for a king and the most selfie inducing marble bathroom you’ve ever seen. Oh and did we mention that this is the same hotel where The Spice Girl’s Wannabe was filmed (told you we rolled out the red carpet!)
Guests enjoyed a range of incredible treats developed especially for us by the hotel Head Chef as well as bespoke cocktails from the ever-obliging mixologists at Pick and Cheers. Those espresso martinis were an early morning life-saver!
The team at Ultimo then shared secrets on how celebs achieve their red carpet look. Sure, A-Listers wear gorgeous gowns and have make-up applied by actual artists, but trust us when we say it’s their strapless bras that are the real star of the show. With products from smoothing bodies to boosting bras and everything in between, Ultimo is the go-to lingerie solutions brand when it comes to occasionwear. Read for yourself at Harper’s Bazaar here
Once everyone was fully up to speed on how the movie stars get their magic looks, press cosied up on the couch with laptops and got to work. We were all in agreement that Emma Stone was not only best actress, but absolutely best dressed and that Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are #couplegoals. I think it’s safe to say that if you tuned into Oscars coverage on the night, it was probably being written from our Ultimo event!
The Oscars might not have gone to plan with the biggest faux pas in the ceremony’s history, but we couldn’t have been happier with how our event turned out!
