Cannes 2013 – Our Fashion Thoughts

Every year celebrities gather together and put their best Couture forward as they embark on the Cannes red carpet.  For you and I, it’s a chance to gawp at the gorgeous gowns and equally dapper men but who wore what and who looked the best?

Cara Delevingne took the plunge in a stunning black lace Burberry gown, finishing it off with Chopard jewellery. She teamed the look with loose curls swept to one side, a smoky eye and classic red lip and nails.

Isla Fisher blended in with the red carpet in a ruffled Oscar De La Renta number that complimented her relaxed auburn tresses perfectly.

Carey Mulligan was the belle of the ball over the past weekend, promoting The Great Gatsby with her cast mates.  Our personal favourite look is this tailored Chloe LBD, complete with a red lip which compliments the red soles of the Louboutins nicely.  Another look we admired is the monochrome Vionnet gown Mulligan donned for the Llewyn Davis premiere.

Cheryl Cole made her second appearance at Cannes and looked elegant in a burgundy Zuhair Murad beaded gown, which hugged her curves perfectly.

Emma Watson also stunned during the weekend but it’s this causal chic look she wore for a TV appearance that we loved the most. Layering a white lace top with black dress, Emma finishes off the look with a distressed french braid and red lip – a trend loved by most of the Cannes goers!

Those are our favourite picks, but who was your fashion heroin this weekend?

MET Ball Fashion Moments

The moment arrived when anybody who is anybody attended the Met Ball Gala of 2013. Celebrity faces flocked including Cara Delevingne to Beyonce arriving on the red carpet wearing glamorous couture pieces.

Punk was the theme of the night, and the stars got creative from top to toe , so we present to you instinct pr’s top 5 favourites!

Our number 1? Easy. Cara Delevingne who was dressed in Burberry. The studded top-heavy dress dropped gracefully against her frame.
She completed the punk look with Dominic Jones and Eddie Borgo jewellery. Bravo Cara!!
Anne Hathaway looked elegant in vintage Valentino accompanied by her new blonde hair shade scraped back! Punk-tastic.
Katie Holmes wore a beautiful Calvin Klein creation. The elegant white halter-neck gown may not have been dominated with the punk theme but we still thought she looked phenomenal.
Uma Thurman arrived in a silk olive Zac Posens gown, complimenting with gold jewellery and red lipstick resembling cartoon character Poison Ivy.
Finally, Heidi Klum took to the red carpet in a silver strapless Marchesa gown. Classy, simple and elegant goes to Heidi.

London Marathon Weekend : Our Top 5 Must-Haves

As London prepares for the marathon’s return this Sunday, the training is finally over so we thought we would list our essentials for the BIG 26 mile day!

1.The preparation…

Helping to keep our energy levels up in the last 2 weeks of training, we will be popping our final Energise Me supplement the morning of the race!! Full of vital minerals we will be raring to go!

2. The outfit…

Still a consideration for the instinct team (whether or not 26 miles is in the way or not) we are after fashionable sports attire. Firstly, the absolute MUST – a Panache Sports Bra. Banishing our bounce, our pink sports bra will be easy to spot and supporting us all the way. And we won’t be the only ones in the crowd, Katherine Jenkins will be rocking hers too.

Shorts? Simple. We’re going vintage with our staple adidas numbers teamed comfortably with a plain vest and Puma trainlite trainers!

3. SaVse saviour…

On route to the starting line, nerves will be kicking in but we will have our stash of bottled goodness – SaVse Smoothies to hand. Full of raw vegetables and fruit, these will curb our appetite and get us ready for the big race!

4. Every runners best friend…

VASELINE! To avoid any uncomfortable chafing, safe to say this will be with us all the way round!

5. Ready, set, go…

Undoubtedly surrounded by nervous runners, its time to focus! The headphones go in and our music choices? Swedish House Mafia, with a little bit of Gaga and fast beats of Rihanna! With water in hand, we are ready to run!

Good luck to all those taking part this Sunday! A great run, for great causes!

Coachella Style File

An agency that doesn’t hush about our love for fashion, when Coachella 2013 weekend hit, we were just waiting for our celeb faves to come out and show us their best attire.

Luring in the hottest celebs and best music makes Coachella the hottest festival of the year so we thought we would cast our eye on who was noticed for the right reasons, and more interestingly the wrong.

Katy Perry set the bar at the Lacoste pool party ensuring she got noticed in this Dolce & Gabanna cropped top and skirt, embracing the bohemian festival vibe yet still keeping her “betty boop” like style with white patent platforms.

Kristen Stewart and boyfriend Robert Pattinson however somewhat missed the fashion bar with an underwhelming casual look. Monochrome may be in this season Kristen…but the navy cap most definitely not. And we do love R-Patz, but perhaps a bit more SS13 brights would have been welcomed here.

Alexa Chung continued her effortless vibe with her monochrome peter pan collar dress and pink shades. Casual elegance at its best at the Lacoste L!VE party.

Always renowned for her style choices, Rita Ora made sure her presence was felt wearing an outspoken neon orange t-shirt and lilac skirt. Accessorizing well with Carrera by Safilo sunglasses and her signature heavy make up, she manages to pull this off.

We love Alessandra Ambrosio. FACT. She took a refined approach to neon at this year’s festival teaming pink denim cut off shorts with a white cropped top. Simple, effective and festival fab.

BAFTA & Grammy Red Carpet Rockstars!

With the BAFTA’s and Grammys taking place last night, instinct pr has taken a look at how the celebs red carpet styles have changed since last years awards.  With her ever-changing hairstyles and like for the extreme side of fashion, Rihanna showcased a new sleeker look with a custom-made red dress and brunette hair compared to last year’s black dress and blonde hair.

Adele also swapped from last years black dress (her trademark look!) and opted for red also!

And breaking the norm, Beyonce and Sarah Jessica Parker stepped out on the red carpet looking very chic in pantsuits which we predict to be quite a hot trend!
